Tulip Thanks

My dear friend Karen Day is a designer for a new Card Challenge site called "Inspired by all the Little Things".  I was thrilled when she asked me to be a guest designer.  This is definitely something new for me.  The picture below was my source of inspiration...

I almost exclusively make hand stitched cards. I first find a design I like, I poke the holes, I choose the paper, and then I hand stitch the design.  The tulip design I chose did not have any pussy willows so I added those free hand with a straight stitch and french knots.  I used pop dots to add dimension to the pail.  I also added texture with a Cuttlebug embossing sleeve.

Teacher Thanks

I can't believe it is already the end of the school year and summer is a week away!  It also means it is the time for teacher gifts. My son had a great teacher this year and her favourite colour is purple.  I wanted to sew her a fun thank you card.  Here it is...

A Facebook Connection

I had such a wonderful surprise last week when I learned that the company called Days of Wonder, that produces the board game Ticket to Ride, found my blog and posted a picture of my Ticket to Ride card on their Facebook page.  Amazing what can happen from one tiny blog...

Ticket to Ride Card

I was asked by my friend if I could design a Thank You card based on the very popular board game called "Ticket to Ride".  The only problem was I had not played the game before.  Fortunately the internet provides excellent images so I was able to browse several pictures of the game in progress and design my card accordingly.  I used beads to represent the train cars and I think they worked fairly well.  I sponged my map paper and tore the edges to have an "old" look.  I hope my friend is pleased.

A Canadian Moose

I have a friend who wanted a "Canadian" thank you card.  She travels around the world and wanted something special that had that "True North" feeling. I thought a moose and some red maple leaves would do the trick. Hope you enjoy my stitched moose card with a bit of Canadian humour inside.

Fall Thanks

I have been wanting to turn these papers into a card for quite a while and this week's "Freshly Made Sketch" was a great inspiration to finally use these papers.  With Thanksgiving this weekend I thought they would be perfect Fall colours.
