All is Bright

Happy New Year! I thought I would start the year inspired by the Merry Monday Christmas Card challenge and this week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.  I don't often use ribbon in my projects but this week's challenge on Merry Monday called for a little extra decoration so I added the gold ribbon. My sweet Rudolph is hand stitched and there are two little black beads for his eyes but they are very hard to see in this photo.

Happy Birthday

I really like this week's Freshly Made Sketches design.  In keeping with the birthday theme from the design team, I made this birthday card.  The stems of the flower are stitched and the flower is done in DMC floss and beads.

Love for a Mother

I always like to make a special card for Mother's Day.  I was inspired by this week's Freshly Made Sketches design. I really wanted to stitch this flower to go with the paper so I decided to turn the sketch to work with the shape of the flower.

100th Birthday

This week I needed to make a 100th Birthday card.  This week's Freshly Made Sketches card sketch provided the perfect inspiration.  Each square is stitched with a number inside the stitching.

Rose Celebration

My aunt asked me to help her with a special 90th birthday card for a woman in her sorority.   I drew inspiration from the rose symbal of the sorority and from this week's Freshly Made Sketches card challenge.  As I love to create hand stitched cards I thought it would be fun to try stitching this design. If you look closely, you will see the glass beads that I have sewn on to the embossed paper.  I hope you like it.

Stork Delivery

My daughter's teacher just announced her pregnancy so I thought this would be a perfect hand stitched card for the occasion.  For design inspiration I looked to this week's Freshly Made Sketches card challenge.

Kylan's penguin creation

My 8 year old son wanted to make a special card for his aunt for her birthday.  They have a special joke about penguins so he wanted to stitch her a penguin card.  This penguin is completely sewn by my son Kylan - I am a very proud mom!  He picked the paper for the card and we were inspired by this week's Freshly Made Sketches for the card design.

Remembrance Day

Our dear neighbour Wally was a soldier in WWII and every year on Remembrance Day we like to honour the sacrifices he made when he was just a teenager.  This card is for him.  I hope he will like the stitched poppy.  I used this week's Freshly Made Sketch for design inspiration.

Christmas Trees

Two card challenges inspired me to create this card.  I really liked the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and I loved the colour combination from Dynamic Duos. I hope you like my stitched Christmas trees.

Santa's Sleigh

This week's Freshly Made Sketch was great inspiration for my stitched Santa's Sleigh.  I tweaked it a bit by turning the sketch on its side.

"Wishing you and yours a Merry Holiday Season"

This card was an award winner this week.  Very exciting!

Fall Thanks

I have been wanting to turn these papers into a card for quite a while and this week's "Freshly Made Sketch" was a great inspiration to finally use these papers.  With Thanksgiving this weekend I thought they would be perfect Fall colours.

Each week at a blog site called "Freshly Made Sketches" a design team creates different cards based on the same sketch (see above).  Card makers are invited to submit their designs to show how they interpret the sketch.  I submitted the above card this week and was chosen as a winner.  How exciting for me!  Thank you to "Freshly Made Sketches" for providing such great sketches!
