Tulip Thanks

My dear friend Karen Day is a designer for a new Card Challenge site called "Inspired by all the Little Things".  I was thrilled when she asked me to be a guest designer.  This is definitely something new for me.  The picture below was my source of inspiration...

I almost exclusively make hand stitched cards. I first find a design I like, I poke the holes, I choose the paper, and then I hand stitch the design.  The tulip design I chose did not have any pussy willows so I added those free hand with a straight stitch and french knots.  I used pop dots to add dimension to the pail.  I also added texture with a Cuttlebug embossing sleeve.

This is a close up of the stitching.

I'm Celebrating Today

It's a pretty snowy day here in Ontario, so I thought a bright and sunny stitched card would be in order.  I did this card with a feathery ribbon too.

Ace of Spades

My father-in-law turns 80 this weekend, and he loves to play cards.  I wanted to stitch him some greeting cards with a playing card theme.  I think he will enjoy giving these cards to his Bridge friends for special occasions.
